New Delhi, March 5: The five-day Delhi tour of Sr. Lilly Gonsalves along with her niece’s family ended today as they boarded the train, Mangala Lakshadeep Express to return to Mangalore. Ms Irene , Mr. Naveen and their kid Iona Fernandes are carrying with them the sweet and adventurous memories of their visit to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
The hectic tour comprised the visit to various historical places of Delhi like: Escon Temple, Lotus Temple of Bahai faith, Rajghat where the mortal remains of Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders are laid to rest, the India Gate overlooking the Rastrapati Bhavan, The Moghul Garden with rare and variety of flowers, the Red Fort, the Indira Gandhi Memorial where she was assassinated, the architectural wonder: Akshardham Temple, Jantar Mantar, etc.
One of the days was spent in visiting the Taj Mahal and the Fort at Agra and another day was devoted for the tour of Jaipur, the fort city of Rajastan. “It’s a life-time experience. Unfortunately I had to wait 33 years to get it”, expressed Naveen. But he was happy for his three-year old Iona saying, “You are a lucky girl dear, because you can see it as a child!”
They were accommodated at Shanti Nivas, the Third Order Regular (TOR) Friars’ residence at Noida sector-11. Fr. Thomas D’Silva, Sr. Lilly’s cousin was their host and guide in Delhi.
I really appriciate for all your help, guide and support towards others. By knowing all this now I also feel that I should visit Delhi under your direction or guidense. Keep it up your good work. May God bless you and all success in your life.
